Our Story – A Dream That Still Fries On
A Dream That Still Fries On
Our story began in 1975 in the small town of Oak Grove, Louisiana.
That's where Mike Brown opened the doors to Mike's Catfish House with a dream of serving great Southern food and bringing people together around the table.
Over the years, the restaurant became a local favorite, known for its delicious fried catfish, homemade hushpuppies, fried chicken, and warm Southern hospitality.
But what made Mike's special wasn't just the food. It was the people, the friendships, and the memories made around the table.
Although the restaurant closed in 2011, the tradition never disappeared.
In 2020, our family brought back the original fish fry breading for a local fundraiser. The response reminded us just how much people loved and remembered the flavors of Mike's Catfish House.
That moment helped inspire a new chapter.
Today, we're proud to carry on that family tradition through Mike's Southern Fry, bringing a taste of our family's kitchen to yours.
Our original fish and seafood breading mix is more than just a product. It's a piece of our family's history, a reminder of where we came from, and a way to keep a Southern tradition alive for generations to come.
Whether you're frying up fresh catfish, cooking for family and friends, or making memories around your own dinner table, we're honored to be a small part of it.
Thank you for bringing our family tradition to your table.
A Dream That Still Fries On.
